Who we share your data with

Your personal data can be collected through forms on this website and will be used to complete your service requirements and enquiries. We hold your data securely and from time to time will share this to other sitters when necessary for handling your booking and ensuring your service is maintained.

We will use third party softwares and plugins to manage your data including, MetForms, Site Reviews, Sure Forms, and cookieYes. These will always be password protected and are only used to improve your experience with My Cat Lady.

How long we retain your data

 If you leave a comment, review or make a booking, the comment, review or booking and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up requests automatically instead of re uploading them.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their client profile. All users can request to see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have completed a form or review on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

 Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

My Cat Lady Terms & Conditions of service

1. All bookings and booking cancellations must be made and confirmed via email or
   text/Whatsapp message so that we have all communications on record in writing. We
   cannot be held responsible for any missed bookings if they are made in any other way (eg,
   verbally).
2. The client agrees to the last-minute booking and cancellation charges stated on the website
   being applied when bookings are requested or changed 48 hours or less before the first visit
   is due. A £10 admin charge will be applied for bookings made less than 48 hours before the sitter is required.  For late cancellations made less than 2 days before the booking is due to start, the following charges will apply: Within 48 hrs,  25% of total booking fee – Within 24 hrs,  50% of total booking fee – Less than 24 hrs,  75% of total booking fee.
3. The client agrees to pay their invoice in full no less than 24 hours before their first visit is
   due. No refund can be issued if the trip is cut short unexpectedly. Any additional
   charges/visits added once the booking has begun will be invoiced and payable immediately.
4. The client agrees to ensure sufficient food, medicines, litter and cleaning supplies are
   provided for the sitter to use over the entire duration of their time away.
5. The client is responsible for instructing the sitter on how to administer any medications to
   their cats and leaving any medicines clearly labelled with dosages.
6. We are vigilant about home security while you are away and will not leave any
   windows/doors open or unlocked unless specifically instructed by you in writing. We cannot
   be held responsible for any form of consequence arising from open windows or external
   doors if we have been asked by the client to leave them that way.
7. The client agrees to ensure all locks and keys are in good working order before they leave so
   that we can gain access to the home easily. The client is responsible for giving us the correct
   keys and that any lockboxes/entrance codes are working correctly.
8. The client agrees to inform their sitter of the estimated times they will be leaving and
   returning so that we can schedule visits accordingly.
9. The client agrees to inform the sitter of any parking restrictions in their streets and will
   provide parking permits if they are likely to be required. Where possible, driveway or
   allocated parking bay space will be left available for the sitter to use if the road is heavily
   restricted. The client will be liable to pay any parking fines incurred by the sitter if they have
   not been fully informed of restrictions ahead of time.
10. The client must inform My Cat Lady if their cat has been unwell or injured before a booking
    starts so that we can assess whether we are able to provide the right level of care. We
    reserve the right to deny a booking if we feel the animal is too unwell to be left without their
    family and/or medical attention. Every effort is made to ensure your cat remains safe and
    well whist you are away and we will do our utmost to get them any professional care they
    might need, however we cannot be held liable on the very rare occasions accidents and
    emergencies may happen.
